Service above self

Young People. Community Service. Positive Change.

Rotaract Club Skopje brings people together through volunteering, leadership, community participation and service-oriented activities that encourage young people to contribute positively to their communities.

Who we are

Rotaract Club Skopje (Ротаракт клуб РТК Скопје) is a volunteer, community-oriented organization for young people in North Macedonia. The club is a place where members plan and carry out service activities together, learn from one another, and take practical responsibility for the work they commit to.

Our work is built around participation rather than announcements. Members meet regularly, discuss what the community around them needs, agree on what the club can realistically do, and then organise it. Leadership here is something people practise: preparing an agenda, coordinating volunteers, speaking in front of a room, following a task through to the end.

Alongside service, the club is a network of people at a similar stage of life. Cooperation, civic participation and friendship are not side effects of the work — for many members they are the reason to stay involved.

What we do

These are the broad areas the club works in. Specific activities are agreed by members and depend on current needs and capacity.

Community Service

Practical volunteer participation and activities organised with and for the local community.

Youth Engagement

Opportunities for young people to take part, learn from each other and contribute.

Leadership Development

Personal responsibility, teamwork, communication and the everyday skills of leading a project.

Volunteering

Encouraging active participation and service, in whatever form suits a person's time and skills.

Professional Development

Learning, networking and meaningful connections between people at the start of their careers.

Social Responsibility

Responsible citizenship and attention to the needs that exist around us.

Our values

Service
Putting the needs of the community before personal recognition.
Integrity
Saying what we do and doing what we say, including in public communication.
Responsibility
Taking ownership of commitments, small and large.
Leadership
Learning to lead by organising, listening and following through.
Respect
Working with people, not on their behalf.
Teamwork
Most of what we do only works when it is done together.
Inclusion
Participation should be open to people of different backgrounds and abilities.
Community
Our work has meaning in the place where we live.
Learning
Every activity is also an opportunity to learn something practical.
Friendship
Lasting relationships are one of the honest reasons people stay involved.
Cooperation
Working with others achieves more than working alone.

Working with the community

Community work starts with listening. Before the club decides what to organise, members try to understand what people actually need and who is already doing something about it. That usually leads to smaller, practical contributions rather than large announcements.

We value collaboration with other organizations, institutions and volunteers. Shared work is more useful to the community and more realistic for a volunteer club.

Community service

Youth and leadership

Taking part in a club like this gives young people room to practise things that are hard to learn in a classroom: organising an activity from start to finish, speaking clearly in a meeting, coordinating a team of volunteers, handling responsibility when something does not go to plan.
